Not much of a story behind it...
This anatomically correct male statue was placed in a prominent position in Albany, until frequent complaints resulted in the statue being moved in front of Cap. Rep. Theater on Pearl Street. (Which is hilarious because it's still a really prominent position.)
My friends made the mistake of telling me about the controversial statue and its location and after a few drinks in the bars on Pearl Street...
